Mac Support

I've worked with Apple Macs since 1993, when we used a couple of Macintosh IIfx in our advertising agency for artwork, although I have to say I wasn't able to troubleshoot them back then.

ImageIn 1995 I bought my first Mac, it came with 8Mb of memory (my current model has 4Gb) and an 250Mb hard drive. Well actually I bought 2, because I felt to build an internet business I needed a laptop as well. Email, what's that, clients would say? Why do you want to put a cable into our phone network to access the "interweb thing"? So a PowerBook 540c I think it was, 640 x 400 pixel screen, 9.5 inch width - these days it would be a netbook! Don't ask about the cost though...

Since then I've built my own business, sorted many issues with networking, wi-fi, broadband, printers, Mac software for audio and video, and a lot more for a number of businesses, and individuals.

I don't do laptop hardware issues. iMac and tower hardware upgrades (memory, expansion cards), absolutely fine. Software and general running issues, almost never a problem.

I've even managed to fix a MacBook running OS 9 in German, so here's a few testimonials from clients to let you know what they think.

"When you're looking for someone both wise and willing to step in where others fear to thread, when your machine stares mutely back at you, rolls its eyes in a psychedelic frenzy, or refuses to wake up at all, it’s good to know there is within reach an expertise able to approach your computer - be its pedigree Macintosh or PC - with a confidence you can happily share, in the knowledge that the words and images you rely on will soon, once again, be (equally happily) dancing productively across the screen - seek no further than Steve Douglas."

"Steve helped us to nurse our old iMac through its last days, and then helped us buy and set up our current version. Whenever we have had any problems with our Mac, and at times become exasperated with it, Steve is like balm on troubled waters. When we ring him, he always responds with helpful, prompt and friendly service."

"I found Steve to be knowledgeable, friendly, flexible and creative in diagnosing and fixing the issues I had with my Mac, would definitely use him again".
Richard, West Linton

"In the last couple of years my wife and I have had cause to use Steve's assistance with our Apple Mac computers. This assistance included setting up new computers, sorting out our broadband and dealing with a range of queries. We have found Steve an easy person to deal with, and he does not try to blind us with science. When experiencing some kind of difficulty Steve has been reasonably prompt in visiting us to sort things out."
