The Tweed Valley Tourist Consortium is a group of about 70 tourism-related businesses who came together to promote it as the ultimate Scottish short break destination.
This site showcases the area, by highlighting what visitors can do (mountain biking, walking, arts and crafts and so on) plus a directory of accomodation, events diary, shops and more.
The content management side allows for clever stuff like a private members area, with a member's forum, archives of committee meetings, online forms for marketing support, and the ability to submit special offers to the management team. Registered members can add their own events to the online calendar, with images and downloadable PDFs if recquired.
The special offers section is set up to automatically remove offers once they are past their "sell by date". There are custom blogs for members or just visitors, just added, what's on next, and my favourite on this site, a random members advert on the homepage, which will become more of an online advertising feature in the future.
